Houston Energy Corridor Neighborhood Spotlight: Memorial Valley
Memorial Valley is a small neighborhood of upscale homes, located just minutes from the Houston Energy Corridor. It is located immediately south of the Katy Freeway, bordered by N. Wilcrest Drive to the west, and by the Sam Houston Tollway to the east. Memorial Valley amenities include easy tollway access, good schools, proximity to parks and recreation, and an abundance of shopping and dining options.
Memorial Valley residents are eligible to join the Plaza Oaks Club, a private local club featuring recreational pools, tennis courts, playground, snack bar, basketball court, volleyball court, pavilion, and an outdoor kitchen with grills. Residents of Memorial Valley have easy access to the Edith L. Moore Nature Sanctuary. The sanctuary is a 17.5 acre forest preserve, located just south of Memorial Plaza, across Memorial Drive. The sanctuary is open to the public 365 days a year. It is home to a variety of wildlife that will delight bird watchers and nature enthusiasts. Educational programs are offered in a restored log cabin.
Memorial Valley residents enjoy upscale shopping and dining very close to home. Just on the other side of the Sam Houston Tollway, you’ll find Town & Country Village and CityCentre Plaza, featuring dozens of upscale retailers, along with popular restaurants and service providers. More world-class shopping and dining is only a few miles away at the Memorial City Mall. Excellent medical services are located nearby at the Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center.
Public education for Memorial Valley is provided by the Spring Branch Independent School District, recognized for excellence by the U.S. Department of Education. Elementary age children attend nearby Rummel Creek Elementary School. Students move on to attend Memorial Middle School. High school students attend Stratford High School, which received a Silver ranking by U.S. News & World Report for academic excellence.
