Memorial Bend is a historic West Houston neighborhood located about 6 miles east of the Houston Energy Corridor. The neighborhood features vintage, mid-century modern homes designed by reknown Houston architects William Norman Floyd, William R. Jenkins, William F. Wortham and Lars Bang. Some of the original homes were featured in national magazines such as American Builder, Better Homes & Gardens and House Beautiful.

Today, Memorial Bend offers a mix of townhomes, newer luxury homes and vintage “mod” homes, all situated on large lots, surrounded by stately trees and landscaped lawns. The neighborhood is located to the immediate east and west of the Sam Houston Tollway, south of the City Center Plaza, near Memorial Drive.

Memorial Bend is mere minutes away from Terry Hershey Park  and the Buffalo Bayou Trail. The Edith L. Moore Nature Sanctuary, a 17.5 acre forest preserve open to the public, is located just west of the neighborhood.

Residents of Memorial Bend have easy access to the Sam Houston Tollway, the Katy Freeway, Memorial Drive and Gessner Road. World-class shopping, dining and medical services are close to home. Nearby amenities include City Center Plaza, Town & Country Village, Memorial City Mall and the Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center.

Memorial Bend is a deed-restricted community managed by the Memorial Bend Civic Association. Residents may also join the Memorial Bend Club, which offers private community events, and 2 acres of recreational grounds and facilities. Club amenities include a competition-size swimming pool, a baby pool, two tennis courts, a picnic area and a playground. The Memorial Bend Barracudas swim team is open to children and teens.

Public education for Memorial Bend students is provided by the Spring Branch Independent School District, which has been recognized for excellence by the U.S. Department of Education. Elementary age children attend Rummel Creek Elementary School before moving on to Memorial Middle School. High school students attend either Memorial High School or Stratford High School. Both high schools are highly rated by U.S. News & World Report, which awarded them a Gold and Silver ranking, respectively.

Homes in Memorial Bend have a variety of architectural styles and price points, with vintage homes and townhomes beginning in the high $200’s. Luxury home prices can range over $1 million.
